OK. Here is the deal with the whole house thing. I’ve just spent months on the topic and have much to report.

Buying a house is a major investment and a major decision. Don’t take it lightly and don’t make decisions based on other people’s opinions. You are the one who has to live with this investment in the long term.

Firstly. Don’t buy a house because it looks good to other people or worry about what other people might think of you. Buy a house because it is a going to be a beautiful family home you will all love. Buy a home you can afford. Buy a home that will not steal all your money in mortgage payments and so you can afford to put beautiful meals on the table every night for the family. Buy a home that leaves cash in your pocket. Definitely don’t let real estate agents put pressure on you. Most are lying. Some are genuinely nice. Like the one that just sold us our new home! He is so getting a slab.

Well. That’s all from me today. Just a few points to ponder. Use this little calculator to work out how much you can afford and stick to your budget.
