Coco loved the way I instantly transported her to London in this picture we took at our AirBNB. We found the canvas print at an Op Shop for $10! What a find - I was so excited. We'd bought some strawberries for lunch and some colourful plastic bowls for our AirBNB . I decided to teach Coco some little tricks for making pictures look match-matchy. Here's the result. We put Coco in her favourite red jump suit and matched all the colours to the picture. The results were great. I LOVE this pic and it's a keeper. One for the printer and will frame it for sure. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We welcomed this little bundle of love nto home re

We welcomed this little bundle of love nto home recently. He travelled via pet transport from Goulburn to Melbourne. We were all so excited. We named him 'Sparky' which totally describes all the energy in our home. He's a great pup. Sleeps all night without barking or fretting. He's very playful and has brought so much light into our home since we lost our beautiful Staffi of 14 years a year or so ago. He's caught on to toilet training super fast which is a big plus! We bought him a grass dog training mat from K-Mart which really helped. We can't wait to watch him grow up. He's a cross Foxy Chihuahua - so not sure how much bigger he'll get. Go Sparky go!!!!! We had a huge weekend giving our old and tired shed a complete makeover! The project involved removing everything from the shed, which was a massive family effort. Richard sprayed the walls with his spray unit in the dark charcoal. Then he painted the floor in two coats of White Knight paint after priming it with etcher - which is like an acid which strips the floor. We picked up the barstools on Facebook Marketplace for $60. I'll be putting a full blog post up on this soon so stay tuned. The yellow chairs are from K-Mart. Secondhand JBL speakers we've had forever. But they're great because they're old school. Retro pictures from the $2 shop. When styling this I used a simple palette of charcoal, light grey and yellow touches. The plants made it homely and happy. The brown chairs were also $10 each from my favourite op shop. More photos to come tomorrow of the rest of the shed. Nothing beats a morning run along one of Melbourne's most amazing beaches - down here on the Mornington Peninsula. In the past month I've shed the equivalent of about 20 potatoes by running and having light salads for dinner. Drinking water is also vital. I love to visualise weight loss like that. When I think about how much lighter I will feel running without 20 potatoes strapped to me - it is so easy to stay motivated. Stick some potatoes in a bag and visualise walking around without that weight. I'm at my halfway point now with just 5kg to go. Then I'm off to do some serious clothes shopping! Who would have thought a humble bag of spuds could be so motivating. On our way to the country in a place called Great Western in Victoria we spotted these cute bikes, all painted bright yellow with flowers added. They really brightened up the street and our day. Here's how my little all come together. Sandwich was made in bulk on Sunday afternoon and snap frozen. It is cheese and ham. I also use chicken, salami and other deli meats. Roast almonds and yogurt. Apple. Mummy message and a touch of fun for my beautiful Coco's lunchbox. Spoon for the yogurt - which I forgot to add in this pic! Keep it simple. Again use containers that are washable and reusable. Explain to the kids what you are doing. We are trying to save the planet by reducing what might end as waste in a bin. Hence, another reason to keep it simple. Don't overpack lunchboxes. More Christmas archives! We had a blast cooking up Christmas feasts this year. Search 'Penina Petersen' at Yahoo Lifestyle to check out all the work we did. Our Christmas day (which we organised at a restaurant) actually got cancelled because my mother-in-law had an awful fall and ended up in hospital for two months in a neck and back brace. Luckily I had a freezer full of food we'd made for Yahoo. So we had a super simple Christmas dinner in the end. We were just so happy my mother-in-law was OK. We're so grateful and it made us count our blessings even more than we already do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
