I love to get organised. There is no better feeling than knowing that everything is in order. Even better, I love getting organised when that organisation lends itself to me spending less out there in the world. It’s a win-win. If you are looking to save money and get organised at the same time, use these awesome tips for finding ways to get organised or spending less.
Do grocery shopping online
Grocery shopping online is by far one of the fastest ways to get organised, save valuable time and while you are saving money. The reason this is so is because when you grocery shop online, you can easily sort by price and find specials. Not only will you be doing so from the comfort of your couch with your feet up, but you will not have to drag the bags back from the mall, in a hot car, with kids in tow. Instead, a nice supermarket employee will carry them directly to your kitchen bench and charge you much less money for the service, because you sorted by price and grabbed all those specials.
Bulk cook and freeze food
Make sure when you have done your grocery shopping, you considered doing a shop for the month and then also try cooking meals in bulk for the month. Take a look at my book Freezer Meals and discover how to make 28 meals for the cut-price off $140. Making meals in bulk means that I do not have to cook each night. I save thousands of dollars in the process and I get to put my tired feet up.
Recycle storage containers
Definitely avoid buying storage containers when you can reuse packaging and containers those groceries and household items may have come in. There are plenty of ways to make recycled boxes look cute. This way, you can save hundreds of dollars on ways to store and stash your stuff without breaking the bank. Think the bottoms of cereal boxes and plastic milk bottles cut in half and you will get my drift.
Stay organised with time
Time really is a thief. You must understand that when you save time you also save money. This is because your time is worth money. So if you have to run up the shops to do errands or to get petrol in your car, do those jobs all at once. I am running errands in bulk, and not one by one, you will save hours of time as well as money.
