Australians are known for their love of shopping. Whether it is clothes, electronics or groceries, Australians will buy anything and everything when they have the opportunity to do so! But did you know that there are quite a few things that most Australians forget every time they shop?
In this blog post, we’ll share with you 10 tips on how to save money in Australia
Tip #1: Save on groceries
Here are the tips for saving money in Australia. To save on groceries, purchase food that is going to last longer. For example, a box of cereal might be cheaper than individual packets but it will last much longer! And if you don’t need milk every day then buy an extra-large container and put some in the fridge for later.
Tip #2: Leave the car at home
Leaving your car at home is a great way to save money when travelling in Australia. You’ll not only be able to avoid expensive parking fees, but you will also have an opportunity to explore public transport options such as buses and trains which can offer you some fantastic scenery while on your journey.
Tip #3: Plan shopping
It might not seem like a big deal but by planning your shopping list ahead of time you can save money on food and other items as well. For example, this week we need the following groceries – bread, bananas, eggs, milk and some frozen vegetables for dinner tonight. We wrote these down before heading to the shops and made our grocery list based on what we need for the week.
Tip #4: Take your coffee with you
We all know that Australians love their coffee, but did you realise how much money can be saved by brewing your own at home? It might take a little while to learn how to do it properly, but once you’ve mastered the basics then you’ll wonder what you ever saw in going out and spending your hard-earned cash on a coffee.
Tip #5: Book well in advance
Australians love their holidays, but did you know that we can also save money by planning ahead? The best way to do this is with flights! If you are thinking of taking off for the weekend then be sure to book your flight well in advance because flights can cost considerably more at the last minute.
