I love a great donut or pizza roll. Such morsels give me an instant energy boost and a quick ‘happiness’ hit. Unfortunately, about 10 minutes after my little carb indulgence I am left feeling somewhat comatose and I have a lower mood than when I started. For this reason, I have a love-hate relationship with carbs.
If you are like my husband, who works physically all day or you are a runner for example – carbs are important for maintaining energy levels.
